Family Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
- * 200g(7oz) plain flour
- 2 eggs
- 5ml (1 tsp) bicarbonate of soda
- 5ml (1 tsp) baking powder
- 30ml (2 tbsp) cocoa powder
- 30ml (2 tbsp) golden syrup
- 30ml (2 tbsp) single cream
- 150ml (¼ pint) oil
- 150ml (¼ pint) milk
- 150g (5oz) soft brown sugar
- 175g (6oz) plain chocolate, grated
- Grease and line a 23cm (9") cake tin.
- Sieve all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
- Put the sugar, syrup, eggs, oil and milk into a well in the middle of the dry ingredients.
- Beat thoroughly until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until a skewer inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
- Leave the baked cake in its tin for a few minutes and turn onto a wire rack to cool.
- To make the icing place the chocolate and cream into a small, heavy-based pan and heat gently until melted.
- Cool slightly and pour evenly over the cake.
- Decorate with walnuts.
Thanks 4 d recipe, can one use creaming method for this recipe? And 4 d icing is it just to pour it or additional work need to be done, like smoothening,etc.
