Chocolate Nut Gateau

Ingredients
- Grated chocolate
- 8 whole hazelnuts
- 25g (1oz) butter
- 40g (1½oz) rice krispies
- 40g (1½oz) cornflour
- 15ml (1 tbsp) golden syrup
- 15ml (1 tbsp) cocoa powder
- 15ml (1 tbsp) hazelnuts, skinned & chopped
- 75ml (5 tbsp) double cream, whipped
- 150ml (¼ pint) chocolate flavored yogurt
- 150ml (¼ pint) hazelnut flavored yogurt
- 450ml (¾ pint) milk
- Melt the butter and syrup in a saucepan.
- Add the Rice Krispies and mix well until they are coated with the butter syrup.
- Press the mixture into the base of an 18cm (7") fluted flan ring, placed on a serving plate.
- Leave to cool.
- For the filling mix the cornflour and cocoa powder with a little of the milk.
- Heat the remaining milk until boiling and pour onto the cornflour mixture, stirring constantly.
- Return the mixture to the pan and return to the heat; simmer for a few minutes, until thickened.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the chocolate yogurt and chopped hazelnuts.
- Pour the mixture over the crisp base.
- For the topping mix the nut yogurt with the whipped cream and spread it over the chocolate mixture.
- Put the flan in the refrigerator and chill until set.
- Carefully remove the flan ring and decorate with grated chocolate and whole hazelnuts.
- Serve with chocolate sauce if desired.
