Chocolate Fudge Cake

Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 150g (5oz) brown sugar
- 175g (6oz) grated plain chocolate
- 200g (7oz) plain flour
- 5ml (1 tsp) bicarbonate of soda
- 5ml (1 tsp) baking powder
- 30ml (2 tbsp) cocoa powder
- 30ml (2 tbsp) golden syrup
- 30ml (2 tbsp) single cream
- 150ml (¼ pint) oil
- 300ml (½ pint) milk
- 175g (6oz) plain chocolate, grated
- 30ml (2 tbsp) single cream
- Chocolate shavings
- Grease and line a 23cm (9") cake tin.
- Sieve the dry ingredients together in a bowl and add the sugar.
- Make a well in the middle and add the syrup, eggs, oil and the milk.
- Beat the cake mixture together until it is smooth.
- Pour the cake mixture into the cake tin.
- Bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
- When ready, leave the cake in the tin for a few minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack.
- To make the icing heat the chocolate and cream in a small, heavy saucepan until melted.
- Cool the mixture slightly and pour over the cake.
- Drag the surface with a fork when it is nearly dry.
- Decorate with the chocolate shavings.

This recipe was the best chocolate cake recipe i’ve ever made. It was literally a delicious creamy liquid when I put it in the oven. and it solidified perfectly. 350mls of milk? perfect, There was enough ingredients to use 150mls of milk. And 150mls of oil! It was delicious, it made perfect sense and worked superb. I think little adaptation is needed.
